Truck Market Overview in Germany
In value terms, truck production amounted to $8.4B in 2010 estimated in export prices. In general, truck production, however, continues to indicate a deep drop. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2010 when production volume increased by 3.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, truck production reached its maximum level at $13B in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2010, production stood at a somewhat lower figure.
The revenue of the truck market in Germany amounted to $6.4B in 2010, approximately reflecting the previous year. This figure reflects the total revenues of producers and importers (excluding logistics costs, retail marketing costs, and retailers' margins, which will be included in the final consumer price). Overall, truck consumption, however, continues to indicate an abrupt slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2008 when the market value decreased by -0.2% against the previous year. Truck consumption peaked at $8.2B in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2010, consumption remained at a lower figure.
