Truck Market Overview in Belgium
In value terms, truck production amounted to $1.4B in 2010 estimated in export prices. Overall, truck production, however, continues to indicate a pronounced setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2010 when production volume increased by 37% year-to-year. Over the period under review, truck production reached its maximum level at $1.6B in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2010, production stood at a somewhat lower figure.
The revenue of the truck market in Belgium amounted to $1.6B in 2010, jumping by 1.5% against the previous year. This figure reflects the total revenues of producers and importers (excluding logistics costs, retail marketing costs, and retailers' margins, which will be included in the final consumer price). In general, truck consumption, however, continues to indicate an abrupt downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2010 with an increase of 1.5% y-o-y. Truck consumption peaked at $1.9B in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2010, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.
