Description
American Crystal Sugar is the largest beet sugar producer in the US. The cooperative is owned by some 2,800 growers in the Red River Valley of North Dakota and Minnesota who farms approximately 425,000 acres of cropland. The company has sugar packaging facilities located at East Grand Forks, Crookston, and Moorhead in Minnesota, and Drayton and Hillsboro in North Dakota. The cooperative's products are sold in the US and other markets to industrial users and retail and wholesale customers under the Crystal name, as well as under private labels through marketing co-ops United Sugars and Midwest Agri-Commodities. American Crystal Sugar was founded by Henry Oxnard in 1890.
