Gordon Food Service (GFS) is North America's largest family-owned broad-line food service supplier. The company has about 25 distribution centers across the US and Canada. GFS's primary focus is distributing a range of food and grocery items, ingredients, and beverages to restaurants, schools, healthcare facilities, and institutional foodservice operators, among others. GFS also offers a variety of back-of-house and facilities supplies, such as kitchen equipment, dining supplies, and cleaning and chemical supplies, and more. In addition to its distribution operations, GFS also owns more than 180 wholesale stores in nearly 15 US states under the GFS banner that are open to the public. Isaac Van Westenbrugge started the family-owned business in 1897 to deliver eggs and butter.
