Who loves you a bushel and a peck? South Dakota Wheat Growers may; it is an agricultural co-op comprising some 6,800 member-farmers. It provides a grain warehouse along with grain marketing services intended to compete with big food and ag companies. In addition to storage and drying, Wheat Growers offers agronomy spreading and spraying, and transportation. It supplies feed, fertilizer, chemicals, and other farm-related provisions for members in and around counties in North and South Dakota. Wheat Growers generates more than half of its revenues through marketing some 160 million bushels of grain (corn, wheat, and soybeans) each year. Remaining revenues are made through agronomy and retail sales and services.
