Description
A can of Genny is to upstate New York what a can of PBR is to the south - the cheap beer of choice. North American Breweries (NAB) owns The Genesee Brewery Company, which has been brewing up Genesee, Genny Light, and Genesee Cream Ale since 1878. When NAB was formed in 2009, it also swallowed Independent Brewers United, the parent of Magic Hat, Pyramid, and MacTarnahan's. In addition to its four breweries, NAB is the sole importer and distributor of Canada's Labatt beers and Costa Rica's Imperial beers to the US and holds a perpetual license to bottle Seagram's Escapes, a line of fruit-flavored malt beverages, from Pernod Ricard USA. NAB is owned by Cerveceria Costa Rica, owned by Florida Ice and Farm Co.
