Cook Group's diversified business portfolio includes companies working in life sciences, business services, resorts, property management, and medical devices. The Cook Medical division makes catheters, needles, wire guides, stents, and other devices used in minimally invasive procedures in fields, including critical care, otolaryngology, reproductive health, surgery, and urology, to name a few. Cook's life science division explores treatments outside its core medical device business and helps other medical device companies bring products to market with testing, regulatory, and clinical trial services. Its K-Tube company manufactures stainless steel tubing used in products made by Cook Medical and other companies and industries. The company was founded by Bill and Gayle Cook in 1963 to provide support and oversight to the Cook companies, which remain family-owned.
