Suncor Energy is strategically focused on developing one of the world's largest petroleum resource basins – Canada's Athabasca oil sands. Suncor's operations include oil sands development, production and upgrading; offshore oil and gas; petroleum refining in Canada and the US; and the company's PetroCanada retail and wholesale distribution networks (including Canada's Electric Highway, a coast-to-coast network of fast-charging electric vehicle stations). Suncor also operates a renewable energy business and conducts energy trading activities focused principally on the marketing and trading of crude oil, natural gas, byproducts, refined products, and power. Majority of the company's sales were generated from the North America. The company was founded in 1967.
