Chord Energy Corporation (formerly Oasis Petroleum), is an independent exploration and production company with quality and sustainable long-lived assets in the Williston Basin. The company's operations were focused in the North Dakota and Montana areas of the Williston Basin targeting the Middle Bakken and Three Forks formations. Chord Energy has net proved reserves of some 655.6 million barrels of oil equivalent and about 963,010 net leasehold acres of land holdings. The company also reported an average daily production of about 119,785 net barrels of oil per day. In 2022, the company merged with Whiting Petroleum, an independent oil and gas company engaged in the development, production, and acquisition of crude oil, NGLs, and natural gas primarily in the Rocky Mountains region of the US.
