American Colloid mines bentonite clay and employs it to make products used in animal feed, cat litter, cosmetics, metal castings, and pharmaceuticals, as well as in the production of iron ore. The properties of bentonite clay allow it to be used as an absorption agent, binder, lubricant, sealant, or thickener. Active throughout the US, the company also has operations in Asia and Australia.
