Unilever Polska Sp. Z O. O. Was established in February 1991, as a foreign capital company. The roots of Unilever, however, date back as far as the inter-war period, when the manufacturer of personal care and cosmetics products Lever Brothers opened its branch office in Poland. In 2000, Unilever acquired the ice cream producer Algida and two years later concluded an alliance with the largest Polish ice cream producer, the company Koral. In 2005, another ice cream factory started operations - the company Lodziarnie Bracia Goral. In July 2007, Unilever made the business decision to sell the ice cream business together with the ice cream factories in Bialystok and Warsaw. As a result of the sales transaction, these Unilever plants became part of the biggest Danish dairy company Arla Foods. In April 2007, Unilever acquired the majority shares in Herbapol for care and treatment plants with a manufacturing facility in Lublin.In May 2008, Unilever sold the entire of production and distribution facilities facility of Algida Foodservices Sp z o.o. The vast majority of goods in the personal care, home care, ice cream and tea segments are manufactured in Poland. The company is strengthening its position as one of the leaders in the premium ice cream market, and its new proposals, e.g. Magnum Gold, Impulse and Max brands, are gaining huge recognition among demanding consumers. In 2007, our mayonnaise Hellmann's received two branzings: `` Laur Konsumenta ''for `` Best Mayonnaise '', and `` Zloty Paragon ''in the `` Product of 50 years '' category. In 2007, the best soap brand according to consumers was Dove, which was awarded the `` Laur Zaufania Konsumentow '' award, while in 2008 it was awarded the quality mark `` Q '' by the Polish Center for Testing and Certification. Unilever Polska is one of the leading food and cosmetics companies on the Polish market, with many of its products holding the position of leaders in their categories.
