Asklepios Kliniken is a private hospital group headquartered in Hamburg, Germany, with 160 hospitals and other associated facilities in 14 German states and 40 medical practices and health centres in neighboring countries. It is one of the largest hospital groups in Germany and was taken over by Fresenius AG in 2014. Asklepios employs around 51,000 people, including around 6,800 physicians. The group was founded in 1989 by Dr. Bernard große Broermann, who as of 2016 is the majority shareholder, with a 51.2% stake.
