Sollentuna Municipality is a municipality in Stockholm County in eastern Sweden. It is part of the Greater Stockholm area, and shares borders with the municipalities of Stockholm, Täby, Danderyd, Upplands Väsby, and Upplands Bro. The municipality is named after the town of Sollentuna, which is the seat of the municipal council. Sollentuna Municipality was created in 1971, when the rural municipalities of Rotebro, Tureberg, and Sollentuna were merged. The municipality has a population of about 70,000, and covers an area of about 50 square kilometers. The municipality is mainly residential, but it also includes some industrial and commercial areas. Sollentuna Municipality is home to several landmarks, including the Sollentuna Church, the Tureberg Shopping Center, and the Sollentuna Golf Club.
