21st Century Cooperative, formerly Guthrie Cooperative, Farliner Township Farmers Exchange, and Auburn Feed, was reborn under the 21st Century Cooperative collective on May 1, 2006. Three locally owned businesses, deeply rooted in their communities, came together with the combined hopes of continuing to provide the best possible service to their loyal customers, as well as finding ways to expand and better meet their growing needs. 21st Century Cooperative is committed to agriculture, and our vision is to help our farm families succeed. Located on the south edge of Cumberland, the Cooperative consists of many different divisions. One runs a retail seed, fertilizer, chemical, and crop protection business. They also have a hog operation that farrows close to 21,000 sows/gilts per year and backgrounds over 100,000 market hogs. The third division, an energy division, includes Cenex branded convenience stores and Cenex branded cardlocks. Our mission is to provide the backbone to agriculture and the rural communities we serve, by providing quality products and services to our customers while promoting a family-oriented, team-based environment for our employees. 21st Century Cooperative is a different kind of business because we are community owned. That means we are not driven by the need to maximize profits to outside stockholders.
