Chongqing Department Store does more than its says. As the name implies, the company owns and operates about 40 department stores mainly in Chongqing City, and Guizhou, Sichuan and Hubei provinces. The stores sell well-known Chinese brands of men's, women's, and children's clothes; housewares; personal accessories; and home decor. As the name doesn't mention, the company also has nearly 60 consumer electronics stores and supermarkets in the same area. Several locations also contain travel agencies. Brands include CBEST, New Century Department Store, and Chongqing General Electrical Appliance. Though the company traces its roots to a department store opened in 1950, it didn't take its present name until 1992.
