Horsch is a mechanical manufacturer in the soil, sowing and plant protection technology sector. The products are distributed via specialist retailers. With its range of products, Horsch is one of the leading manufacturers in Europe, and also one of the pioneers in the sector who have driven forward the development of modern agricultural technology decisively with innovations and model changes. The company is a registered association under civil law, incorporated under Section 22 BGB. The company was founded by the brothers Michael and Philipp Horsch (50%) and the brothers Klaus, Cornelia and Martin Horsch (50%). Innovative technology and new ideas have shaped the history of the HORSCH company for more than 40 years. These components have made HORSCH one of the sectoral market leaders and innovation drivers. The new age of HORSCH begins in 1984 with the development of new, patented hoeing technology. Constant further development and innovative energy lead to the development of novel hoeing systems. These are worldwide successful even today. The expansion of the range begins with pneumatic planters and already in 1993 HORSCH creates a further revolution on the basis of mulch sowing technology: The Airseeder. In quick succession, the entire HORSCH product range benefits from the advantages of mulch sowing technology. Perfect bases for consistently high yields are provided by the trailed or mounted machines for soil cultivation. In 1998 HORSCH begins the production of heavy cultivators and drills. With the successful Tiger series the company takes the leading role in the sector of multipurpose machines with its concentric disc technology. The development of the Avatar in 2002 took HORSCH a significant step forward into precision farming. Here the company was one of the first to enable the automatic regulation of the seed flow during the sowing process. Today, HORSCH produces agricultural machinery on an area of 45 hectares at its headquarters in Schwandorf and at the production sites in Ronneburg (Thuringia), Landau and Dačice (Czech Republic). The headquarters of HORSCH is still in Sitzenhof near Schwandorf. The HORSCH Management in Schwandorf, Ronneburg, Landau and Dačice are Managing Directors with sole power of representation. HORSCH has its own sales subsidiaries in France, Great Britain, Russia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, Brazil, the USA, Canada, Kazakhstan, Argentina and Australia, as well as in other countries. In Ukraine, HORSCH, in addition to the sales subsidiary, founded one of the largest and most modern production plants for agricultural engineering in Europe. With the investment volume of about EUR 50 million, HORSCH Ukraine has a production area of 50,000 square meters and is capable of producing in the region of 12,000 units per year.
