Description
Mitsubishi Shokuhin is a leading wholesale food distributor in Japan. It supplies retailers throughout the country with a wide assortment of products, including processed foods, seasonings and sauces, chilled and frozen foods, confectionery, and canned goods. In addition, the company distributes both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Trading company Mitsubishi Corporation owns just more than 50% of Mitsubishi Shokuhin. Formerly named Ryoshoku, the company adopted the Mitsubishi Shokuhin moniker in 2011. It also began absorbing three of its food wholesaling operations -- San-Esu, Food Service Network, and Meidi-ya. The integration is expected to be completed in 2012.

Nifty clocks fifth session of gains led by IT on Infosys buyback, US rate cut hopes

India's benchmark Nifty 50 closed higher for a fifth consecutive session on Tuesday, with gains led by information technology stocks on Infosys' share buyback plan and U.S. interest rate cut prospects. The Nifty 50 and the BSE Sensex gained 0.39% each to 24,868.6 and 81,101.32 points, respectively. IT jumped 2.8%, led by a 5% surge in Infosys after it announced plans to consider a share buyback on September 11.
