It has three very distinct businesses: Advanced Process Solutions designs, develops, manufactures, and services highly engineered industrial equipment throughout the world; Molding Technology Solutions, a global leader in highly engineered and customized systems and service in plastic technology and processing; and Batesville, a recognized leader in the death care industry in North America. Founded by John A. Hillenbrand in 1906, Hillenbrand generates just about 45% of its sales in the US. In late 2022, Hillenbrand entered into a definitive agreement to sell its Batesville business segment to an affiliate of private equity firm, LongRange Capital, for approximately $761.5 million, which includes an $11.5 million sub-note.
