BAE Systems Surface Ships (BSSS) has been shaping up ships for more than a hundred and fifty years. Consisting of BAE Systems' Naval Ships and Maritime Services divisions, the company is the UK's largest shipbuilder, making ships from offshore patrol vessels to giant aircraft carriers, as well as above- and below-water weapon systems. It also fits out its vessels with communication equipment, sensors and radars, and control and management systems. BSSS' main shipyards are in Glasgow, Scotland, and it works principally with the UK's Royal Navy. As part of the Aircraft Carrier Alliance with Babcock, Thales, and the Ministry of Defence, BSSS led the £6.2 billion construction of two Queen Elizabeth-Class carriers. BSSS generates almost all its sales in the UK.
