Southern California Gas Company

Southern California Gas (SoCalGas) is the nation's largest gas distribution utility in the US. The utility, an indirect subsidiary of Sempra Energy, distributes natural gas to 5.9 million residential, commercial, and industrial meters (21.1 million customers) in more than 500 communities throughout Central and Southern California, from Visalia to the Mexican border. SoCalGas' natural gas facilities include over 3,045 miles of transmission and storage pipelines, about 51,020 miles of distribution pipelines and roughly 48,920 miles of service pipelines. It also includes nine transmission compressor stations and four major interstate pipeline systems: El Paso Natural Gas, Transwestern Pipeline, Kern River Pipeline Company, and Mojave Pipeline Company.
