Description
SCANA is a holding company for public utilities and gas marketers in the Carolinas and Georgia. The company serves more than 700,000 electricity customers and 950,000 gas customers through utilities South Carolina Electric & Gas (SCE&G) and Public Service Company of North Carolina (PSNC). In addition to power transmission and distribution assets, SCE&G generates 6,000 MW of capacity at its fossil-fueled, hydroelectric, and nuclear power facilities. Subsidiary SCANA Energy Marketing sells gas to more than 400,000 retail customers in Georgia's deregulated natural gas market. SCANA was acquired by Dominion Energy in 2019 for some $13.4 billion.
