Wilh. Werhahn is in the business of many different businesses. Founded for about 180 years ago as a timber, stone, and fertilizer trader, Werhahn is now a holding company for mid-sized subsidiaries in a variety of industries including building materials, consumer goods, and financial services with seven business divisions. Its operating companies are autonomously managed, but Werhahn provides these companies with long-term strategic design and support services. Holdings include aggregates producer Basalt Group and Zwilling (cutlery, Tweezerman beauty products). Other holdings are engaged in the leasing and factoring provider abcfinance with abcbank, the vehicle financer Bank11, as well as the start-up Yareto. The Werhahn family controls the company and resides in Neuss.
