Valmet Automotive Oyj

Finland, Varsinais-suomi, Uusikaupunki
Description
Finland might be too cold a climate for convertible cars, but that hasn't stopped Valmet Automotive from making them. The companyspecializes in manufacturing convertible roof systems for automakers such as Bentley, BMW and MINI, Daimler, and Renault. Valmet also acted as a contract manufacturer for Porsche, making the Boxster and Cayman models in Finland, but that relationship ended in 2012; now it makes another luxury sports car, the Fisker Karma, as well as the Garia luxury golf cart. Valmet was founded in 1968 as Saab-Valmet, a joint venturewith Saab Automobile AB. The company is now majority-owed by Metso Corporation; two Finnish investment companies hold minority stakes.
