Subsidiary United Refining, which processes 70,000 barrels of oil a day, distributes fuel to more than 400 Country Fair, Keystone, Red Apple Food Marts, and/or Kwik Fill branded gas stations/convenience stores in Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. It also has real estate, finance, and insurance operations. The Red Apple Group is owned by Greek immigrant entrepreneur CEO John Catsimatidis, who, in a classic rags-to-riches story, started his business empire with one small grocery store in Manhattan and through shrewd business deals became a billionaire.
