Weyerhaeuser Company is one of the largest manufacturers of wood products in North America. The company makes and distributes high-quality wood products, including structural lumber, oriented strand board, engineered wood products and other specialty products to residential, multi-family, industrial, light commercial as well as repair and remodel markets. It is also one of the world's largest private owners of timberland. The company harvests trees for its products from 10.6 million acres of forest that it owns in the US and 14.1 million acres that it manages in Canada. The US generates about 85% of the company's revenue. Incorporated in 1900 as Weyerhaeuser Timber Company in the state of Washington, when Frederick Weyerhaeuser and 15 partners bought 900,000 acres of timberland.
