NIKE is the largest seller of athletic footwear and apparel in the world. Its principal business activity is the design, development, and worldwide marketing and selling of athletic footwear, apparel, equipment, accessories and services. Independent contractors manufacture nearly all of its products. The company, which generates roughly 60% of sales outside North America, sells through about 1,030-owned retail stores worldwide and digital platforms, to retail accounts, and to a mix of independent distributors, licensees, and sales representative. Customers in North America account for about 40% of total revenue.
