Roark Capital Group builds better businesses. The private equity firm buys majority stakes in companies, then guides their growth with a buy-and-build strategy. It targets middle-market, family-owned companies, as well as restaurants, specialty retailers, franchises, direct marketers, and environmental services firms throughout the US and Canada. Roark Capital, which has approximately $3 billion under management, looks for companies with sales ranging from $20 million to $2 billion and invests up to $350 million per transaction. Its portfolio includes stakes in Money Mailer, Pet Valu Canada, and FOCUS Brands, the franchisor for Carvel, Cinnabon, Moe's Southwest Grill, and Schlotzsky's.
