The FLA is a European trade association, which represents the interests of all European wholesalers and importers in the lighting industry. As such it represents interests in the wholesale lighting electrical industry, from the decorative/specialty lighting industry, to the automotive lighting (bulb) industry and the more technical, professional lighting sector. FLA’s core strategy is to represent the needs of its growing membership, augment business opportunities, while safeguarding the reputation of this key business sector of the European economy. The FLA carries out an extensive program of activities, running a diverse range of activities: actively participating and working with the European Commission; running compliance programs, lighting specification information services and playing an active role in developing and promoting European and international lighting standards. The FLA has recently developed a comprehensive quality standard, the Platinum Performance Programme, to recognize and reward members who demonstrate high levels of commitment to the principles of best practice. In addition, we publish technical journals, lighting statistics, and conference proceedings, and set up seminars, conferences, technical and educational programs for its members. In short, FLA Europe is the ‘go to’ organization for all facets of lighting industry in Europe knowing its significant importance to ensure the wellbeing and vitality of the business sector it represent. As such, through FLA Europe, members are kept informed and abreast of latest trends and issues, have the opportunity to influence technical and regulatory developments, and benefit from the collective strength and reach of working as one body and one voice.
