Noble Corporation may be heir to a fortune as demand increases for deepwater oil and gas contract drilling services. The company, with operations in waters off the coasts of five continents, has a fleet of approximately 25 offshore drilling units: more than 10 floaters and about 15 jack-up rigs. Many of its rigs are capable of operating in depths greater than 12,000 feet. Noble focuses on ultra-deepwater and high-specification jack-up drilling opportunities. Its standard specification operate in shallow-water, mid-water, and deepwater and ultra-deepwater. Noble and its predecessors have been operating since 1921. Malaysia and the UK are its largest markets, accounting for around 20% each.
