Whitecap Resources' resources don't melt down from places up high but spew up from down below. An oil and gas development and production company, Whitecap owns oil-producing assets located on a handful of properties in western Canada. Its core assets include Valhalla North in the Peace River Arch area of northwestern Alberta and Pembina in west central Alberta; other assets are located in southern and west central Saskatchewan. Together, Whitecap's assets produced an average of 5,657 barrels of oil equivalent per day in 2011. To a lesser extent, the company also produces natural gas and liquids (NGLs).
