West Fraser Timber is a diversified wood products company with more than 60 facilities in Canada, the US, the UK, and Europe. The company produces lumber, engineered wood (OSB, LVL, MDF, plywood, particleboard), and other products including pulp, newsprint, wood chips, and renewable energy. The company holds licenses to harvest from timberlands controlled by Canadian provincial governments. At its US operations in the south, the company produces lumber and wood chips from yellow southern pine (SYP). West Fraser's products are used in home construction, repair and remodeling, industrial applications, papers, tissue, and box materials. It traces its historical roots back to 1955 when Sam, Bill, and Pete Ketcham bought a small planning mill in Quesnel, British Columbia. Its largest market is the US.
