RWA Raiffeisen Agrar Magyarország Ltd. is a professional agribusiness company operating in Hungary, with cultivation, crop production, animal husbandry and trade. It was founded in 1993, with headquarters in Budapest. It has approx. 140 employees and it operates farms in five different regions in Hungary. The company manages more than 18 thousand ha of land, the number of 23.404 ha of production area continue to grow every year. Main business activities: Cultivation Production and trade of agricultural products Animal husbandry Trade of fertilizers, seeds and pesticides Agricultural service activities (soil testing, machinery work, etc) Production and sourcing of agricultural machinery Organization of agricultural training courses RWA operated the (former) Hungarian sugar industry as the managing organization of the Hungarian Sugar Association for 13 years. In May 2008, RWA decided to merge its business operations with the Zalai Mezőgazdasági Rt. (former headquarter offices in Zalaszentgrót). With the acquisition of the company, the RWA Group not only doubled its Hungarian agricultural production area but also extended its business functions with food and beverage production. The traditionally strong partnership between the Raiffeisen Banks and the RWA yielded new dimensions in this transaction.
