Insteel Industries is the nation's largest manufacturer of steel wire reinforcing products for concrete construction applications. It manufactures and markets steel welded wire reinforcement (WWR), which is used primarily in concrete construction materials; pre-stressed concrete strand (PC strand); engineered structural mesh (ESM); concrete pipe reinforcement (CPR); and standard welded wire reinforcement (SWWR). Its PC strand products are the spine for concrete structures, from bridges to parking garages. Insteel's customers include manufacturers of concrete products, distributors, rebar fabricators, and contractors. A majority of its revenue comes from manufacturers of non-residential concrete construction products. The US is responsible for a majority of the company's revenue. The company was founded in 1953 by Howard O. Woltz, Jr.
