Sibelco is a leading producer of industrial minerals and an international group active in the extraction and processing of natural mineral raw materials, natural industrial minerals and their derivatives, for use in a wide range of industrial and commercial applications. Currently, Sibelco operates about 221 production sites and 12 research and service centers in 28 countries, employing around 11.000 people worldwide. Our products are classified in three major groups: Industrial minerals products, Construction minerals products and Chemicals products. Sibelco started its activities in 1965 as a joint venture of Belgian, Swiss, and French family businesses who already had significant mining operations and specialized in producing grinding media. For more than 50 years, Sibelco developed from a small family company to a large international group, thanks to a geographical and a product wise diversification. Since the end of 2014 Sibelco is a fully-owned subsidiary of SCR-Sibelco, a non-listed private joint stock company, controlled by the Swiss and Belgian shareholders of Umicore and the French group CGMP - Compagnie Genérale des Matières Premières.
