Cash Register Market Overview in Italy
In value terms, cash register production totaled $19M in 2010 estimated in export prices. Overall, cash register production, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2008 when production volume increased by 8.2% year-to-year. In that year, cash register production attained its peak level of $20M. From 2009 to 2010, cash register production growth remained at a somewhat lower figure.
The revenue of the cash register market in Italy amounted to $73M in 2010, waning by -11.5% against the previous year. This figure reflects the total revenues of producers and importers (excluding logistics costs, retail marketing costs, and retailers' margins, which will be included in the final consumer price). The market value increased at an average annual rate of +6.8% over the period from 2007 to 2010; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2008 when the market value increased by 27% against the previous year. Cash register consumption peaked at $83M in 2009, and then declined slightly in the following year.
